Tight Lines

About this game

A realistic fishing game across four waters: a pine lake, an autumn river, a coral bay and a frozen fjord. Watch fish find your bait, strike when the float goes under, then fight them on a live tension gauge. Collect 47 species, upgrade your tackle, chase golden-bubble hotspots and bounties, and land a legend for the leaderboard.

How to play

Cast from the end of the dock, then watch your float. You can see the fish under the water, so you can watch one notice your bait and swim over. First it nibbles and the float twitches. Wait. When the float is pulled right under and a ! appears, tap to strike. Strike too early and it spits the bait; wait too long and it steals it. Striking straight away counts as a PERFECT HOOK, which tires the fish faster and pays more.

Then comes the fight. Hold to reel and let go to give line. Keep the tension marker in the green: in the red for too long and the line snaps, too slack for too long and the fish throws the hook. When the fish makes a run, ease off. When it rests, reel. Once it's exhausted, bring it in.

Four waters, 47 species

Unlock new waters with coins from the Travel map. Every species goes into your Fish Book with its biggest weight.

  • 🌲 Pine Lake (15 species): bass, trout, pike and the moonlit Ghost Catfish.
  • πŸ‚ Misty River (10): a current carries your float downstream. Salmon, eels, and the giant Wels Catfish.
  • 🏝️ Coral Bay (12): clownfish and blue tang on the reef, tuna and blacktip sharks deeper down, and the legendary Blue Marlin.
  • πŸ”οΈ Frozen Fjord (10): cod, halibut and bluefin under the northern lights, and the 400-year-old Greenland Shark.

Time, weather and bounties

  • A full day passes every 8 minutes. Some fish only feed by day, others at dusk or at night (check the Fish Book).
  • Rain (or snow in the fjord) makes fish bite about 60% more often.
  • Golden bubbles mean a rare fish is feeding right there. Cast onto them quickly.
  • The bounty fish in the top corner pays triple. Catching fish in a row builds a streak bonus of up to Γ—2.

Tackle

Coins buy better gear. A stronger rod casts further and steadies tension, a faster reel brings fish in quicker, stronger line handles harder pulls, and better bait attracts rarer fish and more bites. Legendary fish pull far harder than your starting line can take, so upgrade before chasing them.

Tips

  • Count the nibbles. Only strike when the float goes fully under.
  • Watch the fight panel: IT'S RUNNING means let go; HOLD TO REEL means reel.
  • Match the depth to the fish: bottom feeders like catfish and sturgeon need Deep.
  • Your biggest catch goes on the global leaderboard, so a single giant beats a bucket of small fish.
