Most games on Rank Game have a global leaderboard, and several have daily challenges where everyone plays the same level on the same day. This page explains how they work and how to make sure your scores count.
Playing doesn't need an account
Every game works without signing in. Your progress and best scores are saved in your browser, so you can play as much as you like straight away. Signing in is only needed if you want your scores on the global leaderboards, or want your progress saved to your account.
Getting on the leaderboard
- Sign in with Google using the button in the top corner of the site.
- Pick a nickname on your profile page. Nicknames are unique, so nobody else can post scores under your name.
- Play. When you set a score in a game that has a leaderboard, it's submitted automatically under your nickname.
Leaderboards only accept scores from signed-in players with a nickname. This keeps the rankings fair: nobody can type someone else's name or flood the board with fake entries.
One entry per player, your best score
Each player has one entry per leaderboard, holding their best score. If you play again and score lower, your entry stays the same; if you beat it, your entry updates. So the leaderboard shows each player's best, rather than one person filling the top ten.
Your profile and stats
Your profile page shows your nickname and how much you've played each game. It's a nice way to see which games you keep coming back to.
Daily challenges
Some games have a daily challenge: a level that's the same for everyone that day, with its own leaderboard. Because everyone faces exactly the same conditions, it's the fairest way to compare skill. A new challenge starts every day.
- Memory Duel: the daily board and CPU opponent are the same for everyone.
- Sentai Strike: the Monster of the Day combines moves from two bosses into a new mash-up monster.
- Demolition Rush: everyone gets the same buildings and the same upgrade choices.
- Gearlock: the Daily lock is the same puzzle for everyone, so you can compare move counts.
Different games rank different things
Leaderboards rank whatever makes sense for each game:
- Arcade games rank your best score in a run.
- Tight Lines ranks your biggest catch.
- Beat Bloom has a board for every song and difficulty, plus an overall ranking.
- Gearlock ranks your total stars.
- Sentai Strike ranks full seven-stage arcade runs.
Tips for climbing
- Read the guide on each game's page, and our strategy articles, before chasing a top score.
- Try the daily challenges: smaller boards mean a top spot is easier to reach.
- If your score didn't appear, check you're signed in and have set a nickname, then play again.
Good luck, and see you on the leaderboard.
