Doodle Brawl

About this game

Draw your own weapon, then fight with it. Your drawing really is the weapon: long reaches further, ink far from the handle hits harder but swings slower, tiny is lightning fast, and weird shapes become secret weapons like the Ninja Star and Hypno Swirl. Physics combat with combos, blocks, parries, dodges and specials, falling crates and TNT. Quick battles, Survival, three bosses, Chaos mode and online 1v1, plus daily challenges and weapon share links: can you beat my weapon?

How to play

Doodle Brawl is a one-on-one fighting game where you draw your own weapon. Start your drawing at the handle and draw anything: a sword, a giant hammer, a spear, a frying pan, a fish on a stick. The drawing becomes the weapon and keeps exactly its shape.

The physics come from the drawing itself. Every bit of ink has weight. A longer weapon reaches further, a weapon with lots of ink far from the handle swings slowly but hits incredibly hard and sends people flying, and a small light weapon swings fast but does less damage. Wide shapes block better, and sharp points pierce.

Weapon types and secrets

The game reads your drawing and tells you what you've made: a sword, spear, hammer, club, dagger, shield or curved blade. Each type has its own special move, such as the hammer's Ground Slam shockwave, the spear's Lunge, the curved blade's Boomerang and the shield's Shield Bash.

Some shapes hide secret weapons. Try drawing a five-pointed star, a spiral, a tiny dot, or a huge scribble with far too much ink. Every new shape you find goes into your Discoveries list and earns coins.

Combat tips

Press swing repeatedly to chain swings back and forth; the third hit of a combo does extra damage. Blocking only works from the front, and a heavy weapon can smash through a light weapon's guard, while a wide shield holds. Block at the very last moment to parry, which stuns your opponent. Dodging makes you pass straight through an attack.

Use the arena: hit the hanging crates so they fall on your opponent (they break on impact, and you can smash crates on the floor too), and swing at the TNT barrel to light it, then get away. Knocking someone into a wall bounces them back towards you.

Maps

Pick a map before you fight, or leave it on Random. Notebook Dojo is the classic arena with hanging crates and a TNT barrel. Sticky Notes adds floating platforms to jump on. Hot Lava has two lava pits that burn and bounce you out, plus meteors that crash down where a red ring appears. Frozen Pond is slippery ice with icicles that fall when you hit them. Trampoline Park launches you into the air whenever you land on a trampoline, and its walls are padded.

Modes

Quick Battle puts you against a CPU fighter that gets tougher as you win. Survival is an endless run of opponents where your health carries over, with a leaderboard for signed-in players on rank-game.com. Three bosses each need a different weapon: the Shield Golem needs a sharp point or an attack from above, the Ninja Fox dodges slow swings, and the Iron Giant's armour ignores light hits. Chaos mode adds two random rules, like giant weapons, low gravity or exploding hits.

Online 1v1 lets you fight friends with a room code or anyone with Quick Match, each using your own drawn weapon. Save your favourite designs in My Weapons and share them as a link or picture: whoever opens the link has to draw a weapon that beats yours.

Tips

  • Put most of the ink at the far end for a heavy hitter, or keep it small and thin for speed.
  • Against a long weapon, dodge in close; against a short one, keep your distance.
  • Check the daily challenge: it changes every day and pays extra coins.
  • Coins only buy looks, like ink colours and hats. Your skill and your drawing decide the fight.
